Portland, get ready for the 4K4Community on Tuesday, October 10, 2023!

The 4K4Community Fun Run is a 4 km (2.49 mi) running and walking event that raises funds for nonprofits focused on advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in tech and education. 100% of your registration fee is tax-deductible and is donated directly to this year’s nonprofit beneficiary, POIC + Rosemary Anderson High School.  

The run starts and ends at OMSI in SE Portland. At the finish line, participants can celebrate with free drinks and snacks, and visit nonprofit booths to learn about the work being done to better our community. Participants who register before September 24 will also receive a commemorative event t-shirt.

Whether you’re running the distance, walking with a group, or cheering at the finish line, come together with your community to get active and give back.

Event location

The 4K4Community takes place at OMSI — specifically, the OMSI gravel lot at the end of SE 2nd Place, adjacent to the Tilikum Crossing Bridge at 2201 SE Water Ave, Portland, OR, 97214.

The running/walking course will take participants over the Tilikum Crossing Bridge (a public transit and pedestrian-only bridge).

T-shirts

Register before September 24 to receive a commemorative event t-shirt. Participants can pick up their t-shirt along with their bib or during the afterparty.

Bib pickup

On-site bib pickup opens at 3:00 PM on October 10, one hour before the event starts. Those who registered before September 24 may pick up their event t-shirt at registration or during the afterparty.

Early bib pickup information will be announced shortly.

Afterparty

After crossing the finish line, participants are invited to refuel and celebrate with complimentary food, drinks, music, and more! Participants will receive a complimentary drink voucher on their race bib. Must be 21 and older and have a valid photo ID.

The afterparty will also feature a Nonprofit Fair presented by Field Day. Learn about local nonprofits advancing DEI in tech and education and find ways to continue to support the cause beyond the event.

Rosemary Anderson High School (RAHS) is a community-based alternative school that is committed to the success of underserved youth and adults. With four campuses across Portland enrolling 350 students annually, RAHS offers open-door, year-round access to education for students who have encountered barriers in traditional school settings.

Location

The 4K4Community takes place at the OMSI Bridge Lot, at 2201 SE Water Ave, Portland, OR, 97214 (map). The OMSI Bridge Lot is located at the end of SE 2nd Place, adjacent to the Tilikum Crossing Bridge.

The running/walking course will take participants over the Tilikum Crossing Bridge (a public transit and pedestrian-only bridge) and back.
Parking
Free parking is available in the OMSI Bridge Lot, accessed through SE 2nd Place off of SE Water Ave. (See the following map.)

Additional parking is available in the OMSI South Lot, paid via kiosk or Parking Kitty app. See more information on OMSI's website.
Transit
The OMSI  / SE Water Ave station connects with MAX (Orange Line), bus (lines 9, 17, 19), and Portland Streetcar (A) lines.

T-shirts

Register before September 24 to receive a free event t-shirt. Participants can pick up their t-shirt along with their bib or during the afterparty.

Bib pickup

Race bib and t-shirt pickup starts at 2:30 PM. Please give yourself ample time for parking and lines.

If you didn't register by September 25 for a free event t-shirt, additional t-shirts will be available to purchase for $10 via Venmo.

The afterparty will also feature a Nonprofit Fair presented by Field Day. Meet nonprofits advancing DEI in tech and education in Portland, and find ways to continue your support of the cause. Tax-deductible receipt

When you register for the 4K4Community on Field Day, you will be prompted to complete your payment via Stripe. Your $35 registration fee is 100% tax-deductible and donated directly to POIC+RAHS.

You will receive a tax receipt from POIC+RAHS sent to the email address you used to process your payment within two weeks of registering.
