Mark your calendar for the 2024 4K4Community: Wednesday, September 25, 2024!

The 4K4Community Fun Run is a 4 km (2.49 mi) running and walking event that raises funds for local nonprofits and is unique in that 100% of your registration fee is tax-deductible! The 2024 beneficiaries are:  POIC, Birch Community Services, Forest Park Conservancy, and Path Home.

This year, the run starts and ends downtown at World Trade Center Portland. At the finish line, participants will celebrate with free drinks and snacks and visit nonprofit booths to learn about the work being done to better our community. Participants who register by September 9 will also receive a commemorative event t-shirt.

Whether you’re running the distance, walking with a group, or cheering at the finish line, come together with your community to get active and give back.

POIC provides the highest quality services in alternative education, mentoring, family outreach, employment training, and placement.
Birch Community Services addresses the roots of hunger and economic hardship by providing education, food, and nurturing accountability.
Forest Park Conservancy maintains trails, restores native habitat, and inspires community appreciation and future stewardship for generations to come.
Path Home empowers families with children to get back into housing and stay there.

Event information

Location

The 2024 4K4Community takes place at World Trade Center Portland: 121 SW Salmon St, Portland, OR 97204, offered generously by PGE (map).

The running/walking course will take participants north along the waterfront, crossing the Steel Bridge before heading south along the Eastbank Esplanade, finally returning over the Hawthorne Bridge.
Parking
Street parking and parking garages are available near the location of the event. See more information on the World Trade Center website.
Transit
The World Trade Center is located at the heart of the Portland area transit system. TriMet light rail stations are located a few short blocks away and convenient bus routes pass through the immediate area. Explore schedules and maps for TriMet or Portland Streetcar.

Register before end-of-day on September 11th to receive a free event t-shirt, which can be snagged during bib pickup.

Bib pickup

Race bib and t-shirt pickup starts at 2:30 PM. Please give yourself ample time for parking and lines.
Early bib pickup
Early bib and t-shirt pickup is hosted by gold sponsor AWS Elemental.

Afterparty

After crossing the finish line, participants are invited to refuel and celebrate with complimentary food, drinks, music, and more! Participants will receive a complimentary drink voucher on their race bib. Must be 21 and older and have a valid photo ID for alcoholic beverages.

The afterparty will also feature a Nonprofit Fair presented by Field Day. Meet nonprofits with programs that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion within their areas of expertise in Portland, and find ways to continue your support of the cause.

Tax-deductible receipt

When you register for the 4K4Community on Field Day, you will be prompted to complete your payment via Stripe. Your $35 registration fee is 100% tax-deductible via donation to the Field Day Community Fund: 501(c)(3) EIN 99-1262464, before it is disbursed to our nonprofit beneficiaries.
